The County Veterans Service Office (CVSO) is the conduit between the Veteran, and the state and federal agencies tasked to provide a variety of services.  The CVSO also provides services to the dependents of the Veteran.

The first step is to have a copy of the DD214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty).  This is the key document in determining your available benefits.  It is strongly encouraged to have your discharge registered at the County.  This can be accomplished by taking copy 1 or copy 4 of your DD214 to the Register of Deeds to be recorded.  This will give you an available access point to get a certified copy should future events warrant it.

The Veterans Service Office offers many services.  The list below is not the only services provided only the most common.

  • Assist in filing Compensation Claims
  • Assist in filing Pension and Death Indemnity Compensation Claims
  • Assist with Death benefits: Grave marker, Burial benefits, Presidential Memorial Certificate
  • Enrollment in the VA Health Care system
  • Assistance to Needy Veterans

For any questions or services required, please stop at our offices in the Health Services Building (1225 Langlade Road, Antigo, WI) or call at (715) 627-6545/6543.
